Terms of use

• Cupido is for adults 18+ only. By creating an account or trying it without one you confirm you are 18 or older.
• We may ask for proof of age (for example a selfie reviewed by the team) and suspend any account when in doubt.

• Cupido is a social video chat: it connects two verified adults at random in a face-to-face video conversation. “18+” means adults only; it is not a sexual content service.
• We do not guarantee that someone is available at any time, or that a specific person is online. We may change, pause or end features, with notice when reasonable.

• You are responsible for your password and for everything that happens on your account. One person, one account, one phone number.
• When you create your account you expressly accept the content rules and the clothing table; we keep the date of that acceptance.
• Freelancers complete a short training (5 screens and a 5-question quiz) before their first call or Live.
• You can delete your account at any time in My account.

• Whoever calls (or presses Start in the Match) pays with credits (1 credit = 1 MT). If a verified freelancer is on the other side, they earn their share; if not, it is a social call and nobody earns: in a random social chat in the Match both pay, half each of the social price (video: 1.25 credits per minute each; audio: 0.75); if one of them runs out of credits, the call ends for both, with a warning first. In a direct call to someone who is not a freelancer, only the caller pays, half the price of the mode. Nobody is charged before the other accepts. Credits are bought with M-Pesa, e-Mola or other PaySuite methods. 1:1 calls and Lives are charged by time (for example, 1 credit every 12 seconds), at the price shown in credits per minute before every call or Live and on the Credits page. Each period is only charged when it ends: you never pay for time you did not use.
• The first call of each day starts with free seconds. Lives have a few free seconds to take a look. Pack bonuses never exceed 10%.
• Automatic refund: if the call drops (failed connection or lost network) or the other person leaves in the first 30 seconds, that minute’s credits come back. While the freelancer’s camera is off, that time is not charged.
• Credits pay for conversation time. They do not buy any content, gesture or display.
• Credits are valid for 12 months from your last purchase. There are no subscriptions or automatic renewals. Apart from these cases, credits are not money, cannot be transferred and are not refundable, except for our mistakes or where the law requires.
• You can set a daily or monthly spending limit and take a break (self-exclusion) in Settings. A break cannot be shortened.
• Credits on an account closed for breaking the rules may be lost.

• Your level comes only from XP for real activity (minutes of conversation without reports, ratings, approved posts and missions), never from money spent. The frame (Copper at level 2, Silver at 5, Gold at 10, Diamond at 20) gives bonus credits on every credit top-up (not on VIP), with a monthly maximum and at most 12% of bonus in total together with the package bonus; the values are on the Level page and may change, with notice. Bonus credits work like the others (12 months), are paid by Cupido and are never paid out as money.
• With no finished call and no mission for 60 days, you lose 5% of your XP per week, with a warning 7 days before. You never drop more than one frame per month nor below Copper once you reached it; badges are never lost; on a break (self-exclusion or "take a break") nothing is lost. The freelancers' share of earnings (by paid hours) never goes down.

• Anyone can earn ("Start earning"): with verification (document and selfie), the rules training and a wallet in their own name. Verified freelancers receive part of every paid minute: 55% up to 50 paid hours, 60% from 50 hours and 65% from 200 hours (the share never goes down), and 60% of gifts. The free seconds of each client’s first call of the day are free for them and do not count as earnings (with no spending, nobody earns).
• Earnings pay for conversation time, never sexual content. What was paid for a call with a confirmed violation does not count as earnings.
• Withdrawals to M-Pesa or e-Mola from 100 MT, only to a wallet in the verified freelancer’s own name, matching their document. One withdrawal per week is free; further ones pay the stated fee. Tax is withheld as shown in the earnings dashboard.
• One document and one wallet per account. Agencies and accounts run by third parties are not allowed. Earnings obtained through fraud or rule-breaking are cancelled; on a closed account the balance is held for review.

The same for men and women, everywhere on Cupido.

• Only verified freelancers who completed the training can go Live. Lives are public: normal clothes only; swimwear, lingerie, nudity, sexual acts and sexual poses are forbidden (see the clothing table).
• Gifts are always voluntary and buy nothing. Asking for or offering gifts or money in exchange for showing or doing something is forbidden and can be reported.
• Lists and highlights use conversation ratings and the absence of reports, never money spent on gifts.
• The team can join any Live, end it and suspend the account. The number of viewers per Live is limited.

• The Community rules and the clothing table are part of these terms and apply equally to men and women.
• Forbidden, among other things: minors; nudity, undressing, underwear, touching yourself, sexual acts or poses, or pointing the camera at your body; asking someone to expose themselves; showing or doing something on request in exchange for money or gifts; asking for money, scams, threats, hate speech, recording or sharing someone else’s image, and advertising.

• During video calls and Lives, an automatic detector runs on your own device and analyses the image from your camera. The video is not sent anywhere for analysis.
• If the detector sees something forbidden, your image is blurred for the other side and you are warned; if it continues for about 5 seconds, the call or Live ends. Only at that moment a small encrypted snapshot is kept for the team to review. It is deleted after 30 days unless a violation is confirmed.
• The detector can be wrong. No account is closed by automatic detection alone: a person on the team always confirms the violation.
• Consequences of a confirmed violation: 1st — warning, the call is cut and what was paid for that call does not count as earnings; 2nd — 7-day suspension; 3rd, or full nudity or a sexual act — account closed and balance held for review.
• The report “Looks under 18” blocks the reported account straight away until the team decides. Suspected child abuse is reported to the authorities, with the evidence we have.
• You can appeal a decision once, through the appeal form (cupido.co.mz/en/recurso).

• Conversations are between users. Cupido uses the detector and reviews reports, but cannot see everything live. Use common sense and the report and block tools.
• To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for network failures outside Cupido.
