Community rules
Updated on 25 October 2026 (level, frame, loyalty bonus and XP loss for inactivity; before that, on 24 October: content rules, clothing table, detector and consequences).
In short
- Real conversations, with respect: the rules are the same for everyone.
- Normal clothes only. Nudity, underwear, sexual poses and asking someone to expose themselves are forbidden.
- Gifts are voluntary and are never asked for in exchange for anything.
- Report in one tap; “Looks under 18” blocks the reported account straight away.
- 1st violation: warning; 2nd: 7-day suspension; 3rd or full nudity: account closed. You can appeal once.
Cupido is a social video chat: face-to-face video conversations with verified adults. “18+” means adults only, not sexual content. These rules apply equally to men and women.
Always
- Be 18 or older and show your own face, live.
- Wear normal everyday clothes, as for a conversation in the street (see the clothing table).
- Treat the other person with respect. No means no.
- Use Next when a conversation does not work, without insults.
Never, anywhere
- Using Cupido to arrange meetings, or asking for or accepting money or gifts to meet someone.
- Minors, in front of or behind the camera.
- Nudity, undressing, showing underwear, touching yourself, sexual acts or poses, or pointing the camera at your body.
- Asking someone to expose themselves or do any of these things.
- Showing or doing something on request in exchange for money or gifts, or asking for gifts in exchange for anything.
- Asking for or offering money, M-Pesa codes, airtime or "investments".
- Threats, harassment, hate speech or violence.
- Recorded, fake or someone else’s video.
- Recording, photographing or sharing the other person: it leads to a ban and can be reported (“Recorded or shared my image”).
- Advertising, spam or multiple accounts.
Clothing table
The same for men and women, everywhere on Cupido.
Profile and feed photos
- ✓ Allowed
- Only normal everyday clothes.
- ✕ Forbidden
- Swimwear, lingerie, underwear, bare chest, suggestive poses.
1:1 call
- ✓ Allowed
- Normal clothes. Swimwear only in its natural setting (beach, pool) and with no sexual poses.
- ✕ Forbidden
- Undressing, lingerie or underwear, touching yourself, sexual poses, pointing the camera at your body, showing or doing something on request in exchange for money or gifts.
Live (public)
- ✓ Allowed
- Only normal clothes.
- ✕ Forbidden
- Swimwear, lingerie and everything forbidden in a 1:1 call.
In a Live
- Lives are public: normal clothes only. Swimwear and lingerie are forbidden too.
- Gifts are voluntary and buy nothing. Nobody may ask for gifts in exchange for anything; anyone who does can be reported (“Asked for gifts in exchange”).
- No phone numbers, addresses or requests for money.
Automatic detector
- In video calls and Lives, a detector runs on your device. If it sees something forbidden it blurs your image for the other side and warns you; if it continues for about 5 seconds, the call or Live ends.
- The detector can be wrong: it never closes an account by itself. Only the team confirms a violation, after seeing the snapshot kept at the moment of the alert.
Reporting
- Report buttons are always on screen, for both sides: “Exposed themselves”, “Asked me to expose myself”, “Asked for gifts in exchange”, “Looks under 18”, “Recorded or shared my image” and more.
- Every report ends the call and blocks that person for whoever reported.
- “Looks under 18” blocks the reported account straight away, until the team decides.
What happens
- 1st confirmed violation: warning. The call is cut and what was paid for that call does not count as earnings.
- 2nd violation: 7-day suspension.
- 3rd violation, or full nudity or a sexual act: account closed and balance held for review.
- Suspected minor: immediate block; the evidence may be handed to the authorities.
- You can appeal a decision once, at cupido.co.mz/en/recurso.
